Wilderness First Aid Basics is a 16-hour program that is designed for those who work, live, or play in remote areas such as rural areas, wilderness and back-country environments. This course contains the module "When Help is Delayed" and provides an excellent program for boaters, camp workers, scouts, hikers and other outdoor sports enthusiasts. More importantly however, this meets the new first aid requirement for Philmont and other High Adventure Bases.

Prerequisite: Ages 15 and above. Participant(s) must be able to hike short distances to remote sites and simulate rescues.

What to bring: Hiking materials; boots; indoor / outdoor clothing; flashlight; notebook and pencils; first aid kit; trail pad

Length: Approximately 16 hours

Fee: $100 (This includes all course materials, lodging in participant cabins, all meals on Saturday plus breakfast and lunch on Sunday)

Certification: 3-year, Wilderness First Aid

Refund Policy: We prepare for participants to have a high quality experience by ordering supplies based on pre-registration numbers. Refunds of fees will be approved only in the case of death in the immediate family, serious illness, or military obligations.
