Meet Our Reservation Staff
Bethany Brownfield
Reservation Director

Bethany oversees all program and property operations at the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. Any inquiries concerning summer camp, off-season programs and events, weekend camping, volunteer opportunities, and seasonal staff opportunities should go to Bethany.
Bethany holds a bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Previously, Bethany spent five years at Cole Canoe Base, where she developed a deep understanding of outdoor education and youth programming.
Stevie Griffey
Powhatan Ranger

Ranger Stevie manages all property operations at Camp Powhatan. Any inquiries concerning the property and our Reservation hunting program should go to Stevie.
Born in the mountain town of Marshall, North Carolina, Stevie has spent his life building things that last. From crafting homes and log cabins to working as a lineman and logger, his hands have shaped the land. Stevie has a deep calling to help kids and finds joy in guiding the next generation.
Dean Griffey
Ottari Ranger

Ranger Dean manages all property operations at Camp Ottari. Any inquiries concerning the property and camp maintenance should go to Dean.
Born in the mountain town of Marshall, North Carolina, Dean brings a lifetime of hands-on experience and heartfelt service. For over a decade, Dean served as an investigator with the sheriff’s department. He enjoys spending time with others and is always ready to help those in need.
Kevin Bezy
Reservation Program Committee Chairperson

Kevin manages the Reservation Program Committee volunteer force that works behind the scenes to support the operations of the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation. Any inquiries about volunteer opportunities with our committee should go to Kevin.
Kevin is dedicated to education, leadership, and the stewardship of the natural world. His journey in Scouting began as a Cub Scout. Over the years, he has served as Adviser to the Order of the Arrow, Scoutmaster, and Commissioner. He currently serves on the council’s Executive Board.
Marshall Chaney
High Adventure Director
